Christmas 1933

Christmas 1933

Year 1933 is almost over, it's only thirty days until Christmas.
With this thought in mind Joan called her children together
for a family conference. Finally Ann(the oldest),
John and Jean entered the room and sat down.

Joan, in a broken voice, forced herself to smile as she
began talking. "Children all of you know work is almost
impossible to find, that's why your dad is out of town looking
For work."Joan, took a few moments to regain her composure,
finally she started talking again. "Children I'm afraid
Santa's sack will be skimpy this year, but all of you
are old enough to know the true meaning of Christmas
is praising Jesus Christ for allowing us
a chance to live and wash away our sins."

Each of the children looked at their mother,
then one by one they all told her
they fully understand the family situation.
Ann (the oldest) walked over to her mother
and hugged her. After a pause Ann said,
"Mother each of us understand the true meaning
of Christmas isn't about receiving gifts.
It's a time to thank Heavenly Father
allowing us to be born to a mother
and father who loves us much as Dad and you do."

Joan, felt tears running down her cheeks as she exclaimed,
"Children you can't imagine how happy you've made me tonight."

The children looked at their mother and together said,
"Christmas is a time of love not a time to receive material things."

The opinion author of this story is, this family will survive.
